Angel Tree Presents. Christmas Luncheon.

Dear CCC Family,

We had a good Sunday together last week. I hope you are enjoying the Christmas devotional guide. If you didn’t get one last week, you can get one free this Sunday. Bring a friend and they can get one too! There is a lot going on in December so be sure to read the announcements below especially the one about December 10.

See you Sunday.

Jeff

PS Bring the Angel Tree presents this Sunday! There will be a party of the Angel Tree children in the afternoon.

2017 Christmas Series
Our 2017 Christmas series is called The Star: A Journey to Christmas, featuring stories of people in the Bible and of people today in which God visits in unexpected ways. He fills our lives’ journeys with hope, love, joy, and peace, just as He did that first Christmas. There is a free book for everyone. It contains devotions for each of the days leading up to Christmas and complement the messages in the series.

Christmas Offering
Christmas is a time to celebrate Jesus. In the midst of giving gifts to friends, family, and co-workers we want to make sure we give a gift to Jesus as well. Though the post office does not deliver to heaven, Jesus says that we can give to Him by giving to “the least of these.” The Christmas Offering is a year-end giving initiative that focuses on doing just that. Each year we will choose a worthy project to give to at Christmas time. This year the Christmas Offering will go to our Benevolence Fund which meets emergency financial needs of  members of our church and community throughout the year.

Christmas Reminder
Would you like a daily text message or email to remind you to read the Christmas devotion along with the verse for that day? If so, send  your name and your mobile phone number or email address, which ever you want to get the reminder at, to office@cccnyc.org or on Sunday circle “T” at the bottom of your Communication Card on Sunday.

December Events

December 10 Only – Change of Location
In order to have adequate room for our Annual Christmas Potluck, we will meet for worship at P.S. 208 (Alain L. Locke School) at 21 W. 111th Street, between Fifth and Lenox on Sunday December 10. We are renting the school for that day only. This activity is not sponsored or endorsed by the New York City Department of Education or the City of New York.

We will have one service that day starting at 10:45am. Children’s classes will meet as usual, but the Adult Bible Fellowships will not meet. Our Annual Christmas Potluck will be after the service back at our building on W. 110th Street. We use the parking lot as usual.

Christmas Luncheon
CCC’s Christmas Potluck Luncheon, a favorite annual event, will be held on Sunday, December 10th after the morning service. All are invited to attend! There will be one service at 10:45 and it will be held at PS 208 (Alain L. Locke School) at 21 W. 111th Street, between Fifth and Lenox. However, the luncheon will be here at our normal space after the service.

Come with your favorite dish to share and drop it off at CCC’s usually space before going to the school. Please sign-up in the back. Aluminum half pans are available to take for hot foods. Jackie Coss is coordinating the dinner. Talk to her to help with the set-up and cleanup.

Christmas Eve Service
Our Christmas Eve Service will be held on Sunday, December 24th, at 3:00 p.m. Come and celebrate Jesus at this special candlelight service. It is also a great event to bring someone to.
