Small Groups Listed. Super Bowl Party.

Dear CCC Family, It was good to have people back from the holidays last Sunday. In the message John gave us several good reasons why you can trust the Bible and, therefore, build your life off of it. That was the first of three messages getting us ready for the 40 Days in the Word Campaign. This Sunday’s message will be “The Truth or a Truth?” It is hard to be All In if it is just a truth. However,…

40 Days in the Word. All In. Contribution Statements.

Dear CCC Family, 40 days of doing anything will produce change. It doesn’t matter if it’s eating donuts or going to the gym. After 40 days of consistent attention in any area of your life, you will see a change. The same is true for reading the Bible. Imagine the changes we might see in our lives if we read the Bible each day. During the 40 Days in the Word (40 DITW) campaign, we will explore Jesus’ invitation to…

Back. I Stand Corrected. All In.

Dear CCC Family, Laurie and are back from our vacation. We had a great Christmas with almost all of our immediate family together for the first time in years. Then the highlight of our trip to Las Vegas was the marriage of our son, Luke, to Brittany Johnson. The wedding and reception were wonderful though it was much colder than usual in Las Vegas for that time of year. I will share some highlights of our 3,600 mile round trip…

New Decade. New Opportunities. New Theme.

Dear CCC Family, Not just the year, but the decade is almost over. I look forward to the new year and decade. 2020 will be a big year for CCC. We will finish the renovations on our building early in the year and have the opportunity to use it for God’s mission to reconcile people to himself. One crucial decision will be whether to continue to gather at PS 96 or meet in our renovated building. The building is small…

Christmas Potluck Lunch. Did I forget to tell you? Year End Giving.

Dear CCC Family, This Sunday, December 15, we will have our annual Christmas Potluck Lunch after the service. Come with your favorite dish to share. We won’t have access to ovens, so hot foods must be already cooked and brought to fit in warming trays. All are invited to attend! Bring a friend. I seem to have forgotten to make a general announcement, but Luke, our youngest son, got engaged at the end of the summer to Brittany Johnson. They…

New Tradition? Christmas Offering. Angel Tree Presents.

Dear CCC Family, Although we won’t be having an Open House at 210 East 117th Street this Sunday, it will still be a good one to attend and bring a guest. We will follow what we did last year and give a Christmas ornament to those in attendance. A new tradition? See you Sunday! Jeff PS If you bought a present for the Angel Tree Project, please bring it this Sunday. Open House DelayedConstruction delays means we will have to…

Record! New Members! Oops! Christmas Wreaths! Snow?

Dear CCC Family, You did it! You more than met our goal of 75 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. In fact, you set a new record without a packing party. You gave 109 well filled shoeboxes. Well done! More good news! Five more people become new members of Community Christian Church last Sunday. We will have another membership class in January. Oops! Now for some not so good news. Construction delays means we will have to postpone the Open House…

And the winner is! Last Chance.

Dear CCC Family, Have you joined the turkey contest by guessing the weight? Well, the winner is . . . Actually, the contest does not end until tonight, Friday night, at midnight so click here and make your guess. The winner will be announced tomorrow. You can still bring your Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes this Sunday. But that is the absolute last chance as they will close the drop off centers on Monday. It is always more fun to do…

Shoeboxes due this Sunday. Love this picture.

Dear CCC Family, I wasn’t with you last Sunday, but I love this picture. So many smiling faces. Maybe we should meet in the cafeteria every Sunday. Not really, though I do appreciate those who worked hard to make things go as smoothly as possible last week and everyone’s cooperation and positive attitude. We will be back in the auditorium this Sunday. December will be a busy month. Please read below about all that will be happening. Any Sunday is…
