Grand Opening Sunday. Spanish Translation Started. “Picnic”

Dear CCC Family, This Sunday is Grand Opening Sunday! I hope you will be there. Bringing someone with you would be great. I want you there whether you can do that or not. It will be an opportunity to reconnect after the change of locations and busy summer and to get plugged in for the fall. Make plans to stay for the “Picnic” in the cafeteria. Live Spanish-language translation of the message provided via headsets started last Sunday. How did it go?…

Your input is needed. Your help is needed. Your help is really needed.

Dear CCC Family, Grand Opening Sunday will help us becoming known in our new neighborhood. It is just a start. We will need to do more. In the past, we would show popular films of general interest outside to connect with our community. That worked before because we had a very visible location. We don’t have that any more. We are considering another option and your input is needed. Please click here to take a survey and let us know your thoughts. Each week it…

Summer Over? William Gomez. “Picnic” in the Cafeteria. Spanish Translation.

Dear CCC Family, This weekend marks the unofficial end to summer. That brings me mixed emotions. I like the extra daylight and slower pace of summer. But, I also like the cooler temperatures and return of a fuller church schedule that the fall brings. You can read about some of that below as the Adult Bible Fellowship topics for this fall. are listed. We are still struggling to find places for small group Bible studies during the week. If you…

Great Joy

True joy is the constant inner feeling of well being that comes from God. Listen and find out how to attain, how to maintain and how to sustain that true joy that God alone can give. “The joy of the Lord is your strength” Nehemiah 8:10

Best Sunday. Clarification. Service Change. New Staff. Oops.

Dear CCC Family, Last Sunday was very good. The best Sunday since we started meeting at the school. It is getting better each week. The congregational meeting was also very good. A lot of people stayed and we had good discussions. I want to clarify what “Grand Opening” at our new location means. We will still be meeting at Public School 96. “Grand Opening” means that we are ready to announce our presence to the community in a big way.…

Congregational Meeting. Eastern Christian Conference.

Dear CCC Family, It has been a busy few months. A lot has been happening. This Sunday, after the service and refreshments, we will have a congregational meeting to discuss everything that is going on. There will not be anything to vote on. The meeting is for information and discussion. I hope you will be there! See you Sunday. Jeff Congregational Meeting There will be a congregational meeting this Sunday, August 19, at 12:15 pm. This is an informational meeting…

Great Powers of Words

Sticks and stones may …. but WORDS may ….  [build-up, encourage, correct, support, admonish, warn, redeem,  hurt, destroy] . But instead  …… ” And we urge you, brothers, to   admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, and be patient with everyone. ” (1 Thessalonians 5:14) “The person who is knowledgeable restrains his words, and one who has discernment has a cool spirit”  (Proverbs 17:27). “The one who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps his life from troubles ” (Proverbs 21:23).

Back This Sunday. Congregational Meeting.

Dear CCC Family, We enjoyed seeing our grandchildren as well as our daughter and son-in-law in Memphis while on vacation. Their “farm” has expanded and most of the food we ate in their home was grown/raised by them. We also were able to see our son, Luke, and brother, Ray, and his family as we traveled. It was a good trip. Still, we look forward to getting home on Saturday and seeing you Sunday. Jeff Retreat Cancelled It has been…

Guest Speaker. Retreat News. Not on Vacation.

Dear CCC Family, By the time you get this Laurie and I will have left for a week of vacation.  Our son, Luke, just happens to be in Indianapolis. We will spend tonight there and have breakfast with him Saturday morning. Then it is on to Memphis to see our grandchildren. We will be back on Sunday, August 12. Thank you to Greg Stokes for speaking this coming Sunday and everyone who is doing extra in my absence.  Just because I am away…

We are blessed! I was encouraged!

Dear CCC Family, I spent this morning at our building with the construction teams. Rafael who is serving as our general supervisor/contractor, the electrical contractor, the plumbing contractor, and the construction contractor. Rafael’s leadership is saving us not thousands of dollars, not tens of thousands of dollars, but hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Be sure to thank him whenever you see him! All the contractors I met with are going out of their way to accommodate us and charge as little as possible. To do that…
