Positive. Back. Failed. Finish. Wait.

Dear CCC Family, We had a very positive congregational meeting last Sunday. The plan to move forward with building our own church building was well received. Keep it in our prayers! Back to Church Sunday will be September 21. Please use the day to invite someone to attend church services with you. Also, if you are a regular attendee, please consider seating in the front row that day so we have plenty of seats for our guests. I failed to…

I repent, am getting fined, & an important meeting

Dear CCC Family, I repent. Ever since we did “The Story” series my messages have been long. You have been very patient and attentive but I am making a change this coming Sunday and getting the messages back to 25 minutes. To help me remember, for the next few weeks, I am going to fine myself $1 for every minute over 25 and $5 for each one over 30. You can also help me by falling asleep if I go…

It is starting to get busy

Dear CCC Family, It has been a busy few days. A wedding in the Poconos last weekend. (If you missed the service last Sunday, you will have to listen to the message online to find out what happened to my sermon notes last weekend.) After church last Sunday Luke and I went on a three day trip to visit colleges in Virginia and Tennessee. He has another year at community college but is thinking of going away to college next…

Fall Plans

Dear CCC Family, There were four more baptism last Sunday, bringing the total for 2014 to 12. Attendance is very strong for the summer. God has been good to us so far this year! I expect Him to be very good to us this fall. Our fall plans are starting to take shape. We will make a strong push for small groups in September, National Back to Church Sunday on September 21, and a congregational meeting about our building on…

Baptism Sunday #2 and Maybe #3

Dear CCC Family, Last Sunday was another good one. We had high attendance and 2 baptisms. The Kidmo program for children got off to a good start and will only get better. This Sunday there will be more baptisms and maybe next Sunday as well. The teen class will resume. Both of Adult Bible Fellowship are having good attendance, good teaching, and great discussion. Parking is a challenge in NYC and we are blessed to have a parking lot. However,…

Homework, Help, Baptisms, Bagels, Kids, Teens, & . . .

Dear CCC Family, Last Sunday was a good one. We had 96 in attendance making it our second best July average ever. But more important than that was the sincerity of the worship, the enthusiastic response to learning activity that was part of the message, and the high level of participation in the classes. I hope you have been doing your “homework” and will be ready to share on Sunday something that you read which was meaningful to you. The…
