Dear CCC Family,
Thank you to everyone who invited people to Guest Sunday. About 20% of those in attendance were there because of an invitation of some kind. Just because Guest Sunday has past doesn’t mean we stop inviting. Any Sunday is a good Sunday to invite some one. I will continue the Overcome Your Inner Enemies series with a message on overcoming fear this Sunday.
Two of the adult classes (Adult Bible Fellowships) will start this Sunday. Norma’s class will start the following Sunday, September 29. The Tuesday night Bible study will start on September 24. There are other small groups as well. Contact us for details about the other ones.
If you are new to Community Christian Church, a great way to learn about us is to attend the Introduction to Community Christian Church class on October 6, at 12:30 pm. It will be one hour long and child care will be provided.
See you Sunday!
Tuesday Night Bible Study Starts This Week
The Tuesday night Bible study will start on September 24 at 7:30 pm at the home of Crystal Astrachan, 1787 Madison Avenue Apt. 206, between 117th and 118th streets. We will look at key events in the Old Testament and what them mean in light of Jesus. Everyone is welcome to attend.
John and Heather Price Moving Date
Our Associate Minister, John Price and Heather, his wife, will move into our building at 210 East 117th Street Saturday morning, September 28. If you are physically able to carry items up stairs, come help. The exact move in time is yet to be determined so let me know if you can help and I will email you or call you with the start time.
Introduction to Community Christian Church Class
Join us for a one hour Introduction to Community Christian Church class on Sunday, October 6th at 12:30 pm. It is not a full membership class, but will give you a brief introduction to our beliefs, history, vision, and future plans.
Adult Bible Fellowships Resume September 22
Adult Bible Fellowships (ABFs) provide Bible instruction, discussion, friendship, and prayer. They will resume on Sunday September 22.
Boundaries: When to Say Yes, How to Say No To Take Control of Your Life. Does your life feel like it’s out of control? Perhaps you feel you have to say yes to everyone’s requests, especially if you are a Christian. Maybe you find yourself readily taking responsibility for others’ feelings and problems. Or perhaps you focus so much on being loving and unselfish that you’ve forgotten your own limits and limitations. Or maybe it’s all of the above. This study will help you learn when to say yes and know how to say no in order to take control of your life and set healthy, biblical boundaries with your spouse, children, friends, parents, co-workers, and even yourself. Led by Russell Kraft.
Life Lessons from the Book of Esther … studies on the providence of God, His perfect way, His perfect timing ‘for such a time as this.’ Led by Norma Lozada. (Starting September 29)
Core Christianity: Finding Yourself In God’s Story. If you are a Christian, you likely pray, go to church, and read your Bible on a regular basis. Still, with all the busyness of life, you may not be exactly sure how your faith fits into everything you are doing each day. This study delves into the core truths of the Christian faith to equip you to more fully experience the joy God has for you in Jesus Christ and encourage you to have the confidence to share your faith with others. Led by Jon Dyke.
