Dear CCC Family,
The Christmas season has officially started. It is a time of great joy and also some stress. We want to focus on the joy part and hope to do that through this year’s Christmas Series, The Star: A Journey to Christmas. It start this Sunday. You can read more about it and all our Christmas events below.
See you Sunday as we worship and rejoice!
PS Over the next few weeks there will be some changes to the order of our worship service. The changes will not be major, but come prepared for things to be a little different.
2017 Christmas Series
Join us for the 2017 Christmas series called The Star: A Journey to Christmas, featuring stories of people in the Bible and of people today in which God visits in unexpected ways. He fills our lives’ journeys with hope, love, joy, and peace, just as He did that first Christmas. The series starts this Sunday, November 26, and all adults in attendance that day will be given a free book that contains devotions for each of the 30 days leading up to Christmas and complement the messages in the series. That will be a great day to invite friends and family to attend with you.
Operation Christmas Child Packing Party and Christmas Decorating Update/strong>
Thank you to all who joined in the Packing Party for Operation Christmas Child last Sunday. It was another success as we stuffed, and I mean stuffed, 124 fully packed shoeboxes last Sunday! Thank you to Jackie Coss, Dido Lopez, and Ashley Peralta for heading it up this year. You can still give to help ship the shoeboxes. Indicate how much money is for Operation Christmas Child on our giving envelope and put it in the offering bag. Another thank you to Mon Sapitan and Reilly Battung for heading up the decorating of the church for Christmas. It looks great!
Christmas is a time to celebrate Jesus. In the midst of giving gifts to friends, family, and co-workers we want to make sure we give a gift to Jesus as well. Though the post office does not deliver to heaven, Jesus says that we can give to Him by giving to “the least of these.” The Christmas Offering is a year-end giving initiative that focuses on doing just that. Each year we will choose a worthy project to give to at Christmas time. This year the Christmas Offering will go to our Benevolence Fund which meets emergency financial needs of members of our church and community throughout the year.
Would you like a daily text message or email to remind you to read the Christmas devotion along with the verse for that day? If so, send your name and your mobile phone number or email address, which ever you want to get the reminder at, to firstname.lastname@example.org or on Sunday circle “T” at the bottom of your Communication Card add your name and your mobile phone number or email address which ever you want to get the reminder at. Put the completed Communication Card in the offering bag. You will get your first reminder on Sunday, November 26 and last one on Christmas Day.
We are participating with Prison Fellowship in their Angel Tree program that provides Christmas gifts for children whose parents are in prison. If you would like to help, circle the “A” on your completed Connection Card or speak with Elba Rodriguez. The presents will be given to the children at a Christmas Party for them on Sunday December 3 at 1:30 pm.

CCC’s Christmas Potluck Luncheon, a favorite annual event, will be held on Sunday, December 10th after the morning service. All are invited to attend! There will be one service at 10:45 and it will be held at PS 208 (Alain L. Locke School) at 21 W. 111th Street, between Fifth and Lenox.
