Dear CCC Family,
This Sunday is Grand Opening Sunday! I hope you will be there. Bringing someone with you would be great. I want you there whether you can do that or not. It will be an opportunity to reconnect after the change of locations and busy summer and to get plugged in for the fall. Make plans to stay for the “Picnic” in the cafeteria.
Live Spanish-language translation of the message provided via headsets started last Sunday. How did it go? “Great!” is the response I got and that was said with a big smile. If you know someone who would prefer listening to the message in Spanish, you can invite them. William does a great job of translating and there will be an Adult Bible Fellowship in Spanish starting September 23.
See you Sunday.
PS In the past, we would show popular films of general interest outside to connect with our community. That worked before because we had a very visible location. We don’t have that any more. We are considering another option and your input is needed. Please click here to take a survey and let us know your thoughts.
Grand Opening Service at Our New Location This Sunday – Sept. 16
September 16 will be a special outreach Sunday. We are mailing postcards to 10,000 homes around where we now meet. It will be our Grand Opening Service at our new location., Public School 96. It would be a great time to bring someone to church with you and a day we need to be ready for visitors. The theme is “You Belong Here.” Although we expect guests from the mailing, your personal invitation is the best.
“Picnic” in the Cafeteria – Sept. 16
After the service on Grand Opening Sunday, we will have picnic food rather than the usual bagels during our fellowship time. It will be six foot heroes like we had for Reunion Sunday along with picnic side dishes. Plan to bring a guest to the service and stay for the “picnic.” (We will sit at the tables and not blankets on the floor.)
We’ll never know who we are if we don’t know whose we are.
There’s a new series starting next Sunday, September 23, called CHOSEN. It’s based on 1 Peter 2:9-10, and will help you discover God’s call on your life, and purpose for your life. So often we are swayed by how well or how badly things are going, and we get caught up in other people’s opinion of us. The truth is, God’s love for us is constant—even when we are at our worst, nothing changes the fact that we are chosen by Him. Invite your friends, family, and neighbors to come with you in what will be a powerful time of finding our identity in Christ.
Some of the small groups that took a break during the summer will resume in September. We need homes for them to meet in. If you would consider hosting one in your home, please let Jeff know or circle the “H” at the bottom of our completed Communication Card on Sunday. You can contact Jeff at email@example.com.
Tuesday Night Small Group
The Tuesday small group will resume on September 25th at 7:15 pm. We will meet at Crystal Astrachan’s apartment at 1309 5th Ave. (Fifth Avenue at W. 110th Street.) That is the tall buildings across from La Hermosa Christian Church’s parking lot. Contact the church office for the apartment number. We are studying I Corinthians.
