Dear CCC Family,
John Price will be speaking this Sunday. He will continue the Overcome Your Inner Enemies Series by looking at shame and how to overcome it.
Progress! The construction crews are working hard on our building at 210 East 117th Street. It looks like we will be able to hold a dedication service on Sunday, November 24. It is still tentative so pencil that in our your calendar. Once it is definite we will give you more details and you can write it in ink.
Though John is speaking, I will be there so . . .
See you Sunday!
PS. We like to promote and encourage our community. A public school, Central Park East One, is having a Fall Festival that looks great! You should go if you can. For more details click here.
We are having a Pancake Breakfast on November 3 at 10:00 am. It is a free event, so invite your friends, family, and coworkers to join you for food and some fun prizes. They don’t have to stay for the service, although it would be nice and the message will be good for guests. Jon Dyke is in charge of the breakfast so talk to him if you can help.
Operation Christmas Child
Community Christian Church will be participating in Operation Christmas Child. We encourage individuals, families, or a few people to join together to pack a shoebox. (We will not have a packing party this year.) Shoeboxes for packing will be available. We will also participate in the Angel Tree Project. Details about the Angel Tree Project will come later.
One Day Membership Class
All four sessions of the Join the Team! Membership Class will be presented on one day on Saturday, November 16, starting at 9:30 am and ending at 12:30 pm. Please circle the “J” on your completed Communication Card to let us know you will be attending.
Adult Bible Fellowships
Adult Bible Fellowships (ABFs) provide Bible instruction, discussion, friendship, and prayer.
Boundaries: When to Say Yes, How to Say No To Take Control of Your Life. Does your life feel like it’s out of control? Perhaps you feel you have to say yes to everyone’s requests, especially if you are a Christian. Maybe you find yourself readily taking responsibility for others’ feelings and problems. Or perhaps you focus so much on being loving and unselfish that you’ve forgotten your own limits and limitations. Or maybe it’s all of the above. This study will help you learn when to say yes and know how to say no in order to take control of your life and set healthy, biblical boundaries with your spouse, children, friends, parents, co-workers, and even yourself. Led by Russell Kraft.
Life Lessons from the Book of Esther … studies on the providence of God, His perfect way, His perfect timing ‘for such a time as this.’ Led by Norma Lozada.
Core Christianity: Finding Yourself In God’s Story. If you are a Christian, you likely pray, go to church, and read your Bible on a regular basis. Still, with all the busyness of life, you may not be exactly sure how your faith fits into everything you are doing each day. This study delves into the core truths of the Christian faith to equip you to more fully experience the joy God has for you in Jesus Christ and encourage you to have the confidence to share your faith with others. Led by Jon Dyke.
