New Series! Associate Minister Search. Baptism.

Dear CCC Family,

I am excited to start a new series of message entitled “Living with Hope in a World that is Not Our Home.” It will be a study and an application of 1 Peter, a letter the Apostle Peter wrote to followers of Christ living in challenging times. In preparation for the series, it would be good for you to read the entire book of 1 Peter. It is short. If you don’t have time to do that before Sunday, the first chapter would be a great start.

William Gomez will be leading the music this Sunday. Tariq is away this week, but will be back next week, May 5, for his final Sunday with us.

We have resumed our search for a full-time associate minister. This time we are looking for someone who could also lead the music. The ability to lead the music is a desired, not required skill. Thus, we will hire the best over all candidate even if they lack musical ability. William Gomez will be serving as our interim music leader while we go through the associate minister search process. Please add this search to your prayers.

See you Sunday!

Jeff

PS CCC will be hold a special workshop on Saturday, June 8. Watch for more details.

Spanish Translation Resumes May 12
On May 12, we will once again offer a simultaneous Spanish translation of the message during the 11 am service. William Gomez will be leading the singing so he won’t be able to translate the entire service. However, I know some of you could help translate. If you would like to help with the Spanish translation by translating or setting up the equipment, circle the “S” at the bottom of your complete Communication Card on Sunday or email office@cccnyc.org.

Baptism
We will be having baptisms soon. If you are interested in being baptized or have questions about being baptized, circle the “B” at the bottom of your completed Communication Card on Sunday or email office@cccnyc. org.

Join the Team! Membership Class
The four session church membership class will be held on Sundays at 12:30 pm starting May 5. It is a great way to get to know Community Christian Church and attendance is necessary to become a member. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Tariq Al-Sabir
May 5 will be Tariq Al-Sabir’s last Sunday with us as music director. We have enjoyed his time with us and wish him God’s best in the future. Be sure to express your appreciation to him before he leaves.
