Prayer & Fasting. Parking Lot Snow. Children’s Ministry.

Dear CCC Family,

Beginning this Sunday, March 19, a new series of messages will begin, “Risen.” During this series, we will focus on the most important event in human history, the resurrection of Jesus. The purpose of the series is to deepen your faith and help others know the truth and significance of the resurrection.

We are making a change. Children in third through fifth grade will stay in the service with their parent(s) until time for the message. They will then be dismissed to meet their teacher and go to their classroom. The children will worship together with their family and get ready to participate fully in the service when they get older. There are more details below.

See you Sunday!

PS Due to the snow already on the ground and additional snow forecast for Saturday, it is unlikely that the parking lot will be available for our use on Sunday.

Adult Bible Fellowships at 11:30 am
Adult Bible Fellowships (ABFs) offer Bible instruction, discussion, friendship, prayer & service opportunities.

•MARK: Gospel of Jesus Christ. Today, we need the Good News of the Lord’s life and teaching. Two questions: ‘Who is the Lord we follow?’ … ‘How, then, should we live our life?’

•The Case for Faith. Lee Strobel turns his tenacious investigative skills to the most persistent emotional objections to belief―the eight “heart” barriers to faith. The Case for Faith is for those who may be feeling attracted to Jesus but who are faced with formidable intellectual barriers standing squarely in their path. For Christians, it will deepen their convictions and give them fresh confidence in discussing Christianity with even their most skeptical friends.

Starting March 26. He Chose the Nails. Every gift from God reveals his love, but no gift reveals his love more than the gifts of the cross. These gifts came not wrapped in paper, but in passion. They were not placed around a tree, but around a cross. They were not covered with ribbons but sprinkled with the blood that Christ shed on our behalf. This five-session video based Bible study by Max Lucado explores the many gifts that Christ provided to us at his crucifixion. These gifts include the empty tomb where he forever defeated sin and death.

Day of Prayer and Fasting
Salomon and Caroline will have their immigration interview on Tuesday, March 21. We are asking you to fast and pray on Monday, March 20, and/or Tuesday, March 21, asking that they would be granted asylum.

Children’s Ministry Update
We provide care and activities during the services for children through fifth grade. Children, second grade and younger, can go to their classroom during the entire service. Children, third through fifth grade, remain in the service until right before the message. They are then dismissed and meet their leader at the back of the auditorium to go to their room. At the 10:00 AM service there are separate classes for preschool, younger children, and old elementary children. At the 11:30 AM service all the children are together.

TRANSFORMED is a new church-wide campaign designed to transform us in every area of our lives. It will begin in April. A campaign has several aspects, Sunday messages, small groups, Scripture memorization, and daily devotional reading, which together bring about accelerated spiritual growth. TRANSFORMED will begin after Easter. We are looking for people to host small group gatherings in their homes. It is simply to host a group. Here’s all it takes:
Have a heart for our church family,
Open your home for a 7-week small group,
Serve coffee or soft drinks, and
Tell your friends.
Learn more about hosting a group on Sunday.

Easter is Coming!
We will do a mailing to invite our neighbors to worship with us. Your extra gifts designated for the mailing would be helpful. Please indicate that your gift is for the mailing on your giving envelope. You can also give at or text the word MAILING to 84321 with the amount that you want to give, for example, MAILING 25.
