The resurrection is an historical claim. There are two facts no one doubts: 1. Jesus existed; 2. The Christian faith was launched by those who were convinced that he rose from the dead. The evidence and the significance of the resurrection are discussed.
During the week before Jesus’ death, he prepares himself and others for his death, which will lead us to the new covenant. Through Jesus’ death, we are justified freely by God’s grace, through the redemption that came through Christ Jesus.
Jesus is the Son of God. What evidence do we have of this claim? How do we explain that the Bible is the inspired word of God to non-Christians?
God is king over all the world. Only a small number acknowledged him ask king, and God sent the Messiah to dramatically increase this number by paying the penalty for rebellion; defeating the devil, and wooing/transforming the rebellious.
Jesus is baptized in obedience. Following his baptism, Jesus is tempted by Satan and is victorious. Jesus wants all people, especially the sinners. Like everyone else, Jesus encountered conflict, but kept pushing.
