Purpose Driven Life
From February 17 – March 24, 2013, we ran a 6-week spiritual growth campaign that was designed to answer the question, “What on earth am I here for?”. The campaign was based off of Rick Warren’s bestselling book “The Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here For?”. Together, our entire church family learned about God’s five purposes for our lives, and we had opportunities to take steps of growth in each of the five purposes. The sermons are listed below.
You were called to be sent
God wants to send you out to share his love with other people and not just keep it to yourself.
You were called to bless other people
When we bless others, we serve others. God has shaped us to serve him and each other. We all have a special way of serving God.
You were called to become like Christ
We are running a marathon to maturity in becoming more like Christ. To do this, we must simplify our lives, be patient as God works on us, run with others, and take every step with purpose.
You are called to belong
Your second purpose of life is to be part of God’s family in the church. In God’s family, you learn your true identity, are supported by others, are protected and cared for, and your life becomes productive.
You are called to be loved
You were planned for God’ pleasure. The reason you’re alive is God wanted to love you. Your first calling is to enjoy a relationship with God.
This is your calling
Our calling is a gift from God. We are called for God’s purpose, not our own. Our sins don’t change our calling, for it is permanent. God empowers us and will reward us for living our out calling.
