In this series, we tackle the controversial topic of what exactly the Bible says about God, Sex, and Marriage. This week, we further discuss what it means to be created, integrated sexual beings, and how that relates to being married and single.
Genesis 1:27-28 tells us that being a “sexed creation”, or not sexless, is a good thing, and by having cross-gendered relationships (whether as a friendship or as a unique, selective romantic relationship), we deeply enrich our lives with the equal, but different, complementary viewpoints.
Meanwhile, 1 Corinthians 7 and Matthew 12:46 both tell us that whether married or single, life won’t be perfect by switching to one status or the other. Both are states come with their own set of advantages and disadvantages, but whether married or single, Jesus is equally available to people of both statuses.
