Dear CCC Family,
I was surprised and happy about how many people attended last Sunday in spite of the snow and cold. This is especailly true of how many drove and found parking on the street because the parking lot was not available. Well done! Things should be closer to normal this Sunday.
Tariq is away and Zane and Stephanie Gerson will be leading worship for us. They are friends of Jenifer Thigpen, one of our previous worship leaders. Tariq will be back next week.
Please read about the new Young Adult Bible Study that will be starting on January 21. This would be a great thing to invite someone to attend.
Also, please complete the Midweek Survey written about below.
See you Sunday!
PS Be sure to attend the preview session of the “Growing in Christ” class this Sunday at 10:00 am. We appreciate Linda and Ellah sharing last Sunday during our services how the class helped them in their spiritual growth. Thanks Linda and Ellah!
Plans are being made to restart some of our groups during the week. Please take the survey by clicking here. Thanks!

- 11:30 am ABF in French led by Salomon Matasima. The Gospel according to John.
“Growing in Christ” Adult Bible Fellowship Preview Meeting
The “Growing in Christ” study is designed to help you build a strong foundation for your Christian life through enriching Bible study, Scripture memorization, and group interaction. The courses usually require about one hour of preparation each week. Russell Kraft will hold a preview session on Sunday, January 14, at 10:00 am so you can look the book over, ask questions, and decide if it is right for you. The class will start on January 21 at 10:00 am.
New Year! New Habits for Spiritual Growth
With the New Year comes a chance to start fresh spiritual habits or renew old ones. Spending time with God individually iis one of the best. Daily Bible reading combined with the SOAPS method is a great way to do that. You can get a booklet about the SOAPS method and a Community Christian Church Bible reading plan on the Information Table in the lobby. You can find several different Bible reading plans at http://www.ligonier.org/blog/bible-reading-plans/.
The Tenth St Church of Christ will have their annual Singspiration on Saturday, January 27, from 1:00-3:30 pm. There will be a potluck meal afterward so please bring food to share if you plan to stay for it. If you would like to participate in the service by singing or playing an instrument contact Keith Canton at (212) 228-4837. The church is at 257 East Tenth Street.
Charitable contribution statements will be available beginning Sunday, January 14, and mailed on January 22 to those who do not pick them up before then. If you do not receive one and want one, contact the church office.
Coming in 2018 – God, Love, Marriage and Sex Series
Few things are more are more important for a thriving life than a proper understanding of love, sex, and marriage. Unfortunately, it is one that we seem to lack wisdom about. The God, Love, Marriage and Sex series will start in late January and explore God’s truth and wisdom about these important matters.
We have small groups that meet during the week. They are taking a break for the holidays and will resume sometime in January
If you park in our parking lot, please fill out a parking registration form available in the lobby so we can contact you if you need to move your car. Please do not park next to the building. Those spaces are reserved for La Hermosa Christian Church.
Sunday, February 11 – Annual Congregational Meeting. We will affirm elders and trustees, review last year, and discuss future plans.
