Time Change. Marathon. Work Day. Pray for Persecuted Christians.

Dear CCC Family,

Pray. That is our best response to the hate filled, atrocity that took place in our city this week. Our government has other responsibilities. Ours is to pray for the victims, their families and friends, and for those that are filled with or might be filled with such hatred. This coming Sunday is the day set aside to pray for persecuted Christians around the world. Join us this week as we pray.

See you Sunday.

PS We are having a work day this Saturday morning starting at 10:00 am. You don’t have to stay long. An hour would help. I hope to see you there.

Daylight Savings Time Change – Sunday November 5
Remember to set your clock back one hour when you go to bed on Saturday night, November 4.

NYC Marathon November 5 – Parking Issues
Fifth Avenue will be closed on Sunday, Nov. 5, due to the NYC Marathon and we may not be able to get into our parking lot that Sunday. Sometimes the police let us through to park in it, especially if you come down W. 110 Street and go the wrong way around the circle. Please allow extra time to find parking on the street.

Work Day
The condition of the space where we meet makes a big impression on our visitors. It is time to do some cleaning up, declutering, painting, and repairs. We will start at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 4. There will be tasks for people of all levels of skill. Please RSVP to office@cccnyc.org 0r 212 875-8621, if you plan on attending.

2017 Christmas Series
Join us for the 2017 Christmas series called The Star: A Journey to Christmas, featuring stories of people in the Bible and of people today in which God visits in unexpected ways. He fills our lives’ journeys with hope, love, joy, and peace, just as He did that first Christmas. The series starts on November 26 and all adults in attendance that day will be given a free book that contains devotions for each of the 30 days leading up to Christmas and complement the messages in the series. That will be a great day to invite friends and family to attend with you.

Christmas Reminder
Would you like a daily text message or email to remind you to read the Christmas devotion along with the verse for that day? If so, send  your name and your mobile phone number or email address, which ever you want to get the reminder at, to office@cccnyc.org or on Sunday circle “T” at the bottom of your Communication Card add your name and your mobile phone number or email address which ever you want to get the reminder at. Put the completed Communication Card in the offering bag. You will get your first reminder on Sunday, November 26 and last one on Christmas Day.

Operation Christmas Child
We are participating in Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child program again this year. The Shoe Box Packing Party will be on Sunday, November 19, after the second service. We will also decorate the church building for Christmas on that day. Please see the insert on Sunday for details.

Angel Tree
We are participating with Prison Fellowship in their Angel Tree program that provides Christmas gifts for children whose parents are in prison. If you would like to help, circle the “A” on your completed Connection Card or speak with Elba Rodriguez.
