|Dear CCC Family,|
I am looking forward to regathering with you this Sunday, March 7. The details about meeting in person again are below.
I will start the “Why Bother with _____?” series. During the four weeks of the series we will look at why bother with God, Jesus, the Bible, and the Church. This series is designed to encourage you and to equip you to talk to the people in your life about spiritual matters. We learn not only for our own benefit, but also to share with others. It will be a great series for people at any stage of their spiritual journey, but especially for those who are spiritually curious or just getting started. Invite someone to join in person or online.
If you are new to Community Christian or you haven’t been to a Next Class, your next step is the Next Class. It happens on the third Wednesday of every month on Zoom. Although anyone can attend, it is designed for those who are new to our church so they can connect with us and discover their next step. You will hear the pastors’ God stories, the story of Community Christian Church, and meet some members. Click here to get the Zoom link for the Wednesday, March 17, Next Class.
Thank you to those who came last Saturday to get the building ready for services again. David, Claribel, Bladimir, and Josiah from the tech and music teams were there. John D, Denise, and Laurie B helps sort, organize, and, when appropriate, get rid of some of the “stuff” we have accumulated over the years. The building is now ready for everyone.
See you Sunday!
|Details about the In Person Services|
There will be two services, 10:00am and 11:30am. We will continue to live-stream those two services. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer childcare or children’s classes at this time. Children will sit with their families.
The seating is arranged so that there will be six feet between those that don’t live together. (Families or those that share a residence can sit together.) This severely limits the number of seats available. Face masks are required and your temperature will be taken when you enter.
You are also asked to review and answer the screening questions below before attending. The State of New York made some changes since we last met in person and we have updated the questions accordingly. If you answer “yes” to any of these questions, stay home and join us online.
1. Have you had a fever of 100.4 or higher in the past 24 hours?
2. Are you experiencing any COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms? (shortness of breath, fever. loss of taste or smell. etc.)
3. In the last 10 days, have you been diagnosed with COVID-19, awaiting results of a COVID-19 test, or been told to self-isolate or self-quarantine?
4. In the last 10 days. have you had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19?
5. In the last 10 days, have you returned from a trip that now requires you to self-isolate or self-quarantine?
Those questions will be posted when you enter the building for you to review before entering the service. You can learn how to join us online at cccnyc.org.The building is disinfected with a commercial fogger before the Sunday services and surfaces are wiped down with a disinfecting solution in between services. New MERV 13 air filters (hospital grade) were installed in the ventilation system last Saturday.
We do what we can to provide a safe environment. No one contracted COVID-19 during the four months we met in person at the end of 2020. We work and pray that will continue to be the case. Some of you have good reasons to continue to stay home and join us online. I look forward to seeing the rest of you in the near future.
Prayer and the Study of the Book of Revelation on Thursday Nights
Our Thursday night gathering on Zoom, starts with a time of prayer. After that there is a study of The Book of Revelation. Revelation is a complex book, but it is far more understandable than we have been led to believe. The study is on Zoom, Thursday nights at 7:30pm. Click the button below to get the link for the meeting. Click the CCC’s YouTube page button to watch past sessions of the Revelation study.
