Dear CCC Family,
Thank you for your expressions of appreciation for all we have been doing online during this crisis. John, William, and Josiah, our video editor, have been great! You have too. We appreciate all of your participation online. We are also thankful for the texts, emails, and phone calls that you have exchanged with each other. Well done!
One criticism I have received over the years, though it has never been harsh, is that I don’t talk about giving enough. That is probably true. Last week I sent an email that included a short video clip informing you about the church’s financial situation in light of not meeting in person. Our income has only been 60% of what it was before. I thanked those that have continued to give online and by mail. Many have. I encouraged those that are still working to continue to be good stewards of what they have and encouraged those that need help to contact us. WOW! You responded. New people have started giving online. Checks came in the mail. People already giving increased their amount. We received large extra donations. The deficit has been erased and we will have a slight surplus going into May. Thank you! Keep it up. We can’t count on large extra gifts every month, but if those still working will continue to give as they did before we will be in good shape. God is good!
The situation is improving, but far from over. Better days are on the horizon, but not yet here. We want to finish this time well and get ready for a better new normal. Hope will keep us going and bring us a better future. Join us this Sunday as we start a new series, Hope is contagious. You can find the times below.
The following Sunday, May 3, the service will be different. We will be changing the order of things. The message will come at the start of the gathering and we will conclude by singing and taking the Lord’s Supper together. Experts have said that format is better for online gatherings so we will give it a try and see what we think.
We have a special fellowship time tonight at 7:00 pm on Zoom. Detailed instructions on using Zoom and joining us can be found below.
I encourage you to familiarize yourself with Zoom. We will be using it more in the future.
During tough times, we all need good neighbors. You can be that to yours right now. The Neighborhood Help Card can help you do that. To get one click the link below, print it, and post it on your front door to show that you are here to help your neighbors in anyway you can. Jesus came and served others. Be like Jesus.
